Apivar: Effective Varroa Mite Treatment for Honey Bee Colonies

Apivar offers a highly effective solution for controlling varroa mites in honey bee colonies. Specifically, this unique treatment consists solely of Amitraz and a specially designed plastic strip, ensuring a simple and safe composition. Unlike comparable products that contain additional excipients, Apivar’s formulation focuses on delivering the active ingredient directly to the bees. Amitraz used in Apivar is of veterinary pharmaceutical quality, ensuring its efficacy and safety.

The plastic polymer strip is specifically designed to ensure a continuous release of Amitraz from its surface after placement in the hive. Moreover, the polymer’s rigidity and controlled release technology enable the active ingredient to be delivered each time the bees come into contact with the strip.

A single application of Apivar provides a long period of protection. In particular, the plastic polymer continuously releases Amitraz over a six to eight-week treatment duration. This design helps to effectively kill off several successive generations of varroa mites.
